I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday season.

As you may have heard, me, my father and Alan Bruns formed the Florida All Stars Tour for late model racing here in Florida. We have put together a twelve race schedule at six different tracks over eight months. With the rules package we have put in place, combined with good payouts, we feel this will really help get touring late model racing back on track here in Florida.

If you want to learn more about the series, the website is http://www.floridaallstarstour.com/ .

Also we should have some pictures of the race shop up online here shortly.

Thanks.

We’ve had two seperate e-mails come through on this subject, so here goes…

Question – How does one start a career or put themselves in a situation to have a career such as yours (which I believe to be a master mechanic, driver, and setup guru)?

Answer – First off, thanks for the kind words. My best advice is to find a team that races at a track near you and offer your services as a volunteer. Most everybody starts out pushing a broom, chasing parts, working on tires, to get started. Before you ever jump in a racecar you should work on a team as a volunteer to have an understanding of car preparation and also what to do when a car isn’t working right. I started out as a kid working on my dad’s cars and then I had my own racecar that I built while I was in high school. The best advice I can give you is to jump in and learn how to work on a car at the shop so it’s good to go at the track and also learn how to diagnose problems at the track before you ever think about getting behind the wheel. That way you will know how to give good feedback to your crew.

Question – Dear Wayne, I have watched you race in many series before and am a big fan. Currently I live in PA and attend Motordrome Speedway as a fan. I was suprised to see your name registered(on the Motordrome web page under “drivers” and #68) and a local car owner advertising that you were driving his car this year. Is this really true? because if so I look forward to seeing you race here in PA. Thanks! Josh.

Answer – Hi Josh. Must be the “other Wayne Anderson.” Maybe the one that drives modifieds up around New York or Pennsylvania? He’s one of the more popular Wayne Andersons out there and from what I hear he’s a pretty good driver. Could be Motordrome has its own Wayne Anderson?

My plans are to pretty much run in the southeast this year. My next races are Orlando, Pensacola and Auburndale. The ASA Southeast Asphalt Tour is also looking interesting at this point.

Thanks for writing in.
